Make-Up for work
Each job is different resulting in different ideas of what is, and what’s not acceptable in beauty standards when at the work place.
Did you know that with many companies make-up is heavily encouraged to be worn by women? And on top of this some jobs have basic requirements which state that foundation, mascara, blusher and lipstick needs to be worn for them to work.
Below find our take on what is an essential lifesaver and what can save you 5 minutes in the morning if you leave it out of your make-up regime.
Foundation – The ultimate lifesaver, it is the canvas to all the other many products we place on our faces. It will not only smooth over your complexion but will also aid with covering acne, redness and dark spots. Lets face it many of us cant leave the house without it, so it has to be a necessity at the top of the list.
Lipstick – Sorry but the endless colour ranges in the spectrum were created to be placed on our lips, so why not wear them to work. Were not suggesting bright yellows or greys! But if were being honest you cannot go wrong with a nude or red lip. Subtle colours are key when working so we suggest leaving the glitter and metallic shades at home. Eyebrow Gel/Powder – When was the last time you left the house without your eyebrows on? Can’t remember? No us neither, eyebrows are one of the most controversial beauty statements around right now, hello have you seen those feather brows? So it had to be in our top three must haves, regardless on if its gel, powder or something in between filling out your eyebrows is a need to make us leave the house in the morning. Primer – Now this is a godsend, when your working long hours you may not get a chance to top up your make-up, step in all primers. This is a necessity, which allows you to get more work done in the day, promise. Highlighter – Now we know what your thinking, highlighter really? Yes really not because it makes you look like a unicorn but because it can aid in adding brightness to you completion. Plus it offers a great look of a healthy glow! You’re welcome. Blusher – Again hear us out, blusher can add a great complexion to your face especially if you’re picking out pinks or browns. You can add definition to your face or get that sun kissed glow what’s not to love? Mascara – Not a necessity but a need to some, if you’ve got great lashes then you can leave this one at home! Lets be honest sometimes mascara is more of a hassle taking off then it is putting it on for a day at work. Lets save that one for a night out shall we? Eye shadow – Great for a night out, not so great for when you’re at work. It’s a messy process to put on, lose pigments all over your face, not a good look. Plus you could end up over doing it and look like a clown in the work place. Thanks but no thanks a natural eye is far more pleasing and time saving anyway. Concealer – An unnecessary evil if we do say so, there’s just times where we don’t want to come off cakey in the workplace. If your foundations strong enough to cover all of your blemishes then sure you can add this one to the night out list too. Here at Blended foundation is enough so concealers you are not work worthy. Contouring – NOT FOR WORK. Too much effort is being spent on making foreheads and noses appear smaller these days. Spend that extra ten minutes in bed and give it a miss. No one wants dark and heavy make –up in the work place at 9 o’clock in the morning. [if !supportLineBreakNewLine] [endif]
